Submitting your document involves:
- Providing minimal background data about the document,
- Uploading the document (in one file or several pieces,
and possibly in more than one format)
- Providing us with some cataloging data (author, series, dates, etc.)
appropriate to the kind of document you are depositing.
-
- You are strongly urged to have an abstract of your document
ready -- you can type or paste it into the form when asked for it.
- For journal articles you should know the issue and volume
date and number & page numbers.
- In general, it will help to have a hard copy in front of you.
You will have the opportunity to upload several files as
part of the document. Carefully consider their names while
the files are still on your disk. You cannot rename them once they
are uploaded.
N.B. The way files are stored on the server
does not allow for subdirectories.
Specifically, that means that if you have two pieces of
your document in files with the same name but in different
directories (folders), one will overwrite the other when uploaded.
Upload your document as one or more RTF (Rich Text Format) files.
Upload graphs or images as separate files linked into the main document.
This is a 6 step process that will take five to fifteen minutes,
unless you choose to compose your abstract on line.
If you decide to give up (hopefully to try again later!) halfway
through, you will find buttons on every page that allow you to cancel
the submission. Using this button will purge any data and files you
may have given us. It is NOT possible to go away (i.e., close your browser),
then come back and pick up the same deposit process.
You cannot see -- for reasons of security -- your document directly
after it has been uploaded. However you will receive enough feedback
during the submission to know if your data was properly received.
You should expect within 72 hours an e-mail confirming
the incorporation of your document into LEDA.
Depositors authorize the Legal Information Institute to retain in
perpetuity a digital copy of their scholarship and to provide, without
charge, individual users of LEDA with the ability to view or print
copies of a LEDA document for private, non-commercial use. Authors
retain all other rights, including the rights of subsequent publication.
